Propel's Journey

Over a period of five years, Vishnu has worked with multiple schools, private upmarket high fees schools to moderate to low fee schools and government schools to schools that were set up for charity in both urban and rural setting. This led to massive learning about what makes educational transformation possible.
The ultimate questions that emerged from this learning was-
1. What is it that will make change in educational practices possible and will sustain?
2. Could there be a tool that empowers teachers with knowledge and skills to teacher for understanding which alone is freeing, AND keeps them learning?
3. Could there be a tool that keeps children fully engaged as it challenges and propels them to enquire and learn?
4. Could there be a tool that assess learning of students and teachers, thereby making the learning and teaching accountable and invigorating?
5. Could there be a structure that is comprehensive and holds all the above together, woven into an elegant framework that is simple and easily implementable?
Vishnu Kant gathered a group of educators, writers, researchers, designers, artists and editors, and went six years of focused tapasya, a time for deep learning and deep creation. From 2010 to 2016, the six years of complete immersion into enquiry, research and massive academic work resulted into an innovative, elegant solution called Propel Curriculum: a powerful framework and structure that offers direction, tools, resources, strategies and plans to each stakeholder in school ecosystem.
Propel Curriculum is a unique blend of product and processes, human effort and technology, face to face and online learning. Propel (logo) is an integrated system of teaching, learning, assessing and reporting that involves all stakeholders in the learning of child.
Propel answered Vishnu’s questions and quest for meaning, and has benefitted others since its creation.
Let it touch your life too, if you too seek meaning and freedom.

Learning Progression

The curriculum helps students to build on their understanding, to move them along to deepen their learning beyond correct or incorrect answers.

Assesment as Learning

Students are their own assessors where they monitor their own learning by asking questions and use a range of approaches to choose what they know and can do, and then proceed for new learning.

Learning Chakra

Learning begins with doing something with attention, and then you are prodded to reflect on it. The gaps are visible when you question and your finding begins to make conceptual connections and help to solve real life problems or takes you ahead to create something new.
