I have been very fortunate to have played various roles in this journey. Have served as a Headmistress, Principal, Director Academics, Teacher Trainer, Assessor, Auditor & also inspected schools for CBSE board. Created a Teacher manual, reviewed text books, created text for books, created resources for students and teachers and conducted webinars during the pandemic. From, the hunger to learn to hunger to contribute, keeps me going.
As a teacher my first concern was to keep my students interested in what they are doing and this was one challenge that made me design pictorial worksheets (handmade as we didn’t have computers then), teaching aids and a notebook format that provided scope to draw, colour and pose questions to the teachers one on one through their notebook. The practices that I was happy creating as a school head were -Student teacher meeting just like we have a PTM, asking students to make their own question papers for the first UT, including students in decision making. To keep myself updated I participated and enrolled myself in various trainings. Every training broadened my horizons and I ensured through me that my teachers also grow. I was fortunate to have got a chance to set up a multiple inspired school where I got to work with teachers, students & parents too. The journey has been great with many failures that paved the path for success.
I strongly believe that a teacher is a nation builder and am determined to give my best to them and that I see as my contribution to my country. I am associated with British Council and some publishing houses and am grateful to them as I get ample opportunities to be with teachers and work with them.
Be the propeller of your life is what I strongly believe in and wish to continue contributing positively.
