Propelled People
Agnes Joseph
Propel Curriculum Developer & Researcher
Agnes has grown in her roles as a thoughtful teacher, an observant facilitator, a teacher trainer and a curriculum developer. She draws inspiration from her interactions with children and nature and uses it to write for them. While on her own journey of understanding learning and change and what causes change in people, Agnes aspires to assist others who have embarked on a similar journey.
As a teacher Agnes saw her impact only on the children of her classroom and was challenged to find a way to replicate this among other students. She is dedicated to meaningful learning in children where children also learn to take responsibility of their learning.
She is well versed in Project Based Learning methodology and has not only taught children using it, but also developed structured curriculum for it and has been empowering teachers for enabling learning in children with it. Thousands of children and teachers of primary grades across 69 schools have now benefitted from the entire Propel curriculum.
As a promoter of constructivist pedagogy, continuous observation of student’s learning through the Propel curriculum is one of her passions to build the curriculum further.
She has nurtured and led a team of content and curriculum designers and developers for the last decade to build a robust, usable curriculum for K-8 grades.
Having worked with a variety of educational institutions, government and private, over the last decade, Agnes is able to identify with the teacher’s struggles and is eager to simplify them so that more meaning and learning can come into their classrooms.
